Futuros em Construção: A Sociologia na Esfera Pública
A Associação Portuguesa de Sociologia organiza o XIV Congresso Português de Sociologia, que decorrerá entre os dias 22 e 25 de março de 2027, na Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Algarve, em Faro. O XIV Congresso, dedicado ao tema “Futuros em Construção: A Sociologia na Esfera Pública”, pretende constituir um espaço de encontro, reflexão e debate sobre os desafios sociais contemporâneos e os contributos da sociologia para a compreensão e transformação das sociedades atuais.
A Secção Temática de Pobreza, Exclusão Social e Políticas Sociais convida investigadores/as, docentes, estudantes e profissionais a submeter propostas para apresentação e discussão de investigação nas áreas da pobreza, da exclusão social e das políticas sociais. Recorda-se que o prazo para a submissão de resumos termina a 22 de junho de 2026.
O Congresso decorrerá maioritariamente em modalidade presencial, estando igualmente prevista a realização de sessões online. As sessões presenciais decorrerão exclusivamente em formato presencial, enquanto as sessões online decorrerão exclusivamente em formato virtual.
O Congresso será acolhido pela Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Algarve, no Campus de Gambelas, em Faro.

14th Portuguese Sociology Congress
Building Futures: Sociology in the Public Sphere
The Portuguese Sociological Association (APS) is organizing the 14th Portuguese Sociology Congress, which will take place from 22 to 25 March 2027 at the School of Economics of the University of Algarve, in Faro, Portugal.
Under the theme “Building Futures: Sociology in the Public Sphere”, the Congress aims to provide a forum for exchange, reflection and debate on contemporary social challenges and on the contributions of sociology to understanding and transforming today’s societies.
The Thematic Section on Poverty, Social Exclusion and Social Policies invites researchers, academics, students and practitioners to submit proposals and contribute to discussions on research related to poverty, social exclusion and social policies. Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is 22 June 2026.

The Congress will be held primarily in person, although a number of online sessions are also planned. In-person sessions will take place exclusively on-site, while online sessions will be conducted exclusively in a virtual format.
