\nSou investigadora auxiliar no Centro Interdisciplinar de Ci\u00eancias Sociais (CICS.NOVA), da Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH).
\n<\/span>\"\"O meu trabalho tem por objetivo compreender de que forma as transforma\u00e7\u00f5es que t\u00eam vindo a decorrer ao longo das \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas nas organiza\u00e7\u00f5es acad\u00e9micas, aproximando-as de modelos empresariais e impulsionando um enraizamento progressivo de uma cultura da performatividade, se traduzem, por um lado, na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de conhecimento, e por outro, nas trajet\u00f3rias laborais e nas trajet\u00f3rias de vida de acad\u00e9micos. Al\u00e9m disso, tenho estado profundamente envolvida em movimentos ativistas e sindicais em defesa de direitos laborais, com a certeza de que a precariedade e a explora\u00e7\u00e3o na ci\u00eancia e noutros sectores de atividade ser\u00e3o ultrapassadas.

I am an assistant researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA), at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH).<\/span>
\n<\/span>My work aims to understand how the transformations that have taken place over the last few decades in academic organizations, increasingly mimicking corporate models and promoting the embodiment of a performativity culture, are translated, on the one hand, into the production of scientific knowledge, and on the other, into work and life trajectories of academics.<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span>Also, I am deeply involved in labour rights activism, advocating against precarious jobs and exploitation in science and elsewhere, and, one day, we will get our point across.<\/span>

\n<\/b>Nasci em Col\u00f3nia, Alemanha, estudei na RWTH Aachen e na Humboldt-University Berlin, e obtive o meu doutoramento em Sociologia na Universidade T\u00e9cnica de Berlim.
\n<\/span>\"\"Desenvolvi a minha rela\u00e7\u00e3o profissional com Portugal ao longo da \u00faltima d\u00e9cada, como investigadora visitante no CESNOVA (hoje CICS.NOVA, FCSH), na Universidade de Estocolmo, na Universidade de Gotemburgo e trabalhei no CES Coimbra e no ICS\/CECS, Universidade do Minho. Desde 2020 estou no ICS, Universidade de Lisboa, com o meu atual projeto de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o AFFECT. Sou cofundadora da rede de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o independente <\/span>STS MIGTEC<\/a>.

\n<\/span>Sou uma ciclista apaixonada, um otimista incur\u00e1vel e, em algum momento, serei fluente em portugu\u00eas. Sinto que as minhas ambi\u00e7\u00f5es ao n\u00edvel da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00e3o perfeitamente descritas pelas palavras de Ruha Benjamin: “Lembra-te de imaginar e criar os mundos sem os quais n\u00e3o podes viver, ao mesmo tempo que desmantelas aqueles em que n\u00e3o podes viver.” (Ruha Benjamin).<\/span><\/p>\n

I was born in Cologne, Germany, studied at the RWTH Aachen and Humboldt-University Berlin, and obtained my PhD in Sociology at the Technical University Berlin. I developed my professional relationship with Portugal over the last decade, I have been visiting scholar at CESNOVA (today CICS.NOVA, FCSH), University of Stockholm, University of Gothenburg, and worked previously at CES Coimbra and at ICS\/CECS, Universidade do Minho. Since 2020, I\u2019m at ICS, Universidade de Lisboa, with my current research project AFFECT. I am co-founder of the independent research network <\/span>STS MIGTEC<\/a>.

<\/span>I\u2019m a passionate cyclist, an incurable optimist in life, and at some point in time will be fluent in Portuguese. My ambition of critical and relevant research I feel is best described with the words of Ruha Benjamin: “Remember to imagine and craft the worlds you cannot live without, just as you dismantle the ones you cannot live within.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>A minha carreira acad\u00e9mica est\u00e1 ancorada na interse\u00e7\u00e3o entre a sociologia do crime e da justi\u00e7a e os estudos sociais da ci\u00eancia e tecnologia.
\nRealizei o meu doutoramento na Universidade do Minho (2015), desenvolvi investiga\u00e7\u00e3o no CES Coimbra (2015-2017) e fui investigadora visitante na Universidade do Rio Grande do Sul (2016), Brasil e na Universidade de Cambridge (2012).<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Estou atualmente no CECS, Universidade do Minho, onde me dedico a explorar a vigil\u00e2ncia tecnol\u00f3gica de popula\u00e7\u00f5es criminalizadas em diferentes fases do sistema de justi\u00e7a criminal, nomeadamente investiga\u00e7\u00f5es criminais, medidas comunit\u00e1rias e reclus\u00e3o. Embora as quest\u00f5es associadas ao crime ocupem a maior parte do meu tempo profissional, o meu tempo livre \u00e9 preenchido com yoga, medita\u00e7\u00e3o e aventuras culin\u00e1rias.

My academic career has been built on the intersection between sociology of crime and justice and social studies of science and technology. I obtained my PhD at University of Minho (2015), worked at CES Coimbra (2015- 2017) and have been a visiting scholar at University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (2016), and Cambridge University, the UK (2012). I am currently based at CECS, University of Minho, dedicated to exploring the technological surveillance of criminalized populations at different stages of the criminal justice system, namely criminal investigations, community measures, and imprisonment. <\/span>Although crime-related matters occupy most of my professional time, beyond academia I enjoy yoga, meditation, and getting lost in time while cooking.
