Estimados\/as colegas, (english version below)<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00c9 com grande prazer e entusiasmo que assumimos a responsabilidade de coordenar a Sec\u00e7\u00e3o Tem\u00e1tica de Conhecimento, Ci\u00eancia e Tecnologia da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa de Sociologia (APS) durante os pr\u00f3ximos quatro anos.
Neste per\u00edodo, pretendemos estimular e atualizar os debates sobre os estudos sociais da ci\u00eancia e tecnologia em e sobre Portugal, envolvendo todos os acad\u00e9micos interessados nesta \u00e1rea tem\u00e1tica, incluindo as novas gera\u00e7\u00f5es, e ampliando o di\u00e1logo com outras redes que trabalham em \u00e1reas pr\u00f3ximas, mas que n\u00e3o t\u00eam a sociologia como disciplina de origem.
<\/span>Temos por objetivo discutir as articula\u00e7\u00f5es dos estudos sociais da ci\u00eancia e tecnologia em e sobre Portugal com as crises locais e globais; estimular debates mais amplos com a produ\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica do Sul e do Norte global; e refletir sobre como \u00e9 que a comunidade epist\u00e9mica que se autoidentifica com os estudos sociais da ci\u00eancia e tecnologia \u2013 incluindo todos\/as os\/as que se encontram formalmente associados\/as a esta se\u00e7\u00e3o tem\u00e1tica, mas tamb\u00e9m aqueles\/as que n\u00e3o se encontram associados\/as – imagina o futuro.
<\/span>Estamos muito entusiasmadas com o in\u00edcio deste trabalho em equipa e com as potencialidades do mesmo para a consolida\u00e7\u00e3o da comunidade de Estudos Sociais de Ci\u00eancia e Tecnologia . Estamos unidas por uma miss\u00e3o e vis\u00e3o partilhadas e muito motivadas para a sua concretiza\u00e7\u00e3o. Iniciamos, assim, estes quatro anos com muita curiosidade e com vontade de fomentar sinergias. Acreditamos que este \u00e9 um ponto de partida muito promissor. Estamos gratas por trabalhar tendo como base o terreno f\u00e9rtil que as anteriores coordenadores e membros da Se\u00e7\u00e3o Tem\u00e1tica constru\u00edram.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dear all, <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we assume the responsibility to chair the Thematic Section on Knowledge, Science and Technology of the Portuguese Sociological Association (Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa de Sociologia \u2013 APS) for the upcoming four years.<\/span>
We wish to stimulate and refresh debates on Science and Technology in and about Portugal. We aim to reach out, engage with and support young scholars interested in these areas. We have the ambition to expand the dialogue with other networks in this area which do similar work under different umbrellas, and with home disciplines other than sociology.<\/span>
<\/span>We aim to move into new directions, by discussing the potential articulations of STS in and about Portugal with local and global crises; stimulating a wider debate with the global Southern and Northern STS scholarship and reflecting about what and how the epistemic community self-identifying with STS scholarship – organized within and beyond the thematic section – imagines as its own possible futures and to foster community building in these terms. You find the full programme below \/ attached.<\/span>
<\/span>We are very enthusiastic to start this work as a team. The three of us are united by a shared mission and vision, highly motivated to collectively turn these into reality, and very much enjoy collaborating with each other. We are embarking in these four years withlots of curiosity, fun and joy, and eager to create synergies. This, we believe, is a very promising starting point. We are grateful that we can build on fertile ground that previous chairs and members of the Thematic Section have carried out.<\/span><\/p>\n
